Why not put the engines on the top, including inlets and outlets? Then you can fit a very large internal weapons bay.

thats really cool! maybe with strong enough magnets you could merge again and even recharge from the mother ship.

You could need to add a spring loaded plunger to your pylon to help with separation in flight. On actual planes the release equipment has them to ensure the weapon is pushed away from the plane as well as to overcome any frictional binding caused by the airflow pushing the weapon against the pylon

I'd love to see an STOL EDF with a motor placement similar to a YAK-15 and either a single thrust vector nozzle kinda like an F35, or a two-nozzle duct system like the rear half of this Harrier setup. Something where the center of thrust of the nozzles is right in between the CG and the center of lift for a positively stable airframe design.

Weiterverbesserungsvorschlaege: - Gefederte hatch unten für front landing gear vorsehen; - Die schoenen air intake-Teile nach hinten fortsetzen, damit sie in eine Art Hauben (mit oder ohne hatches unten) für die Abdeckung der hinteten landing gears übergehen. Ist relativ einfach zu implementieren und würde sowohl Aerodynamik als such Optik verbessern. 🤝
